The Road to Madera is not for the faint of heart. Many have died amidst cartel violence on this single, vibrant two-lane highway in Mexico's most northern state, Chihuahua, and we have been there to see the devastating results. This road also leads to Madera, one of the Sotol distillation capitals of Mexico. Much of the Sotol that is consumed worldwide travels this very journey.
